Another highlight from a German perspective was delivered by 32-year-old Malaika Mihambo in the women's long jump. After three fouls, she improved to 6.87 meters and outperformed the competition. "The form is good; I haven't had a spectacular jump yet, but many solid jumps after an indoor season that was a bit rough," she explained. This surpassed her seven-day performance from Rehlingen by five centimeters.

In the women's 100 meters, Sade McCreath from Canada won in 11.06 seconds, with German record holder and former European champion Gina Lückenkemper finishing second in 11.23 seconds. German 100-meter record holder Owen Ansah had bad luck, being disqualified after a false start.

Outlook on the European Championships in Birmingham

Obstacle runner Karl Bebendorf set a German best time in the rarely contested 2000-meter steeplechase: 5:18.29 minutes were recorded at the end.
