A defendant in the circle of the legally binding conviction of Karl-Heinz Grasser stated in his interrogations that, under growing pressure, he had produced three or four false emails and indicates that he did not pursue the matter further afterwards.
The statements are connected to the complex surrounding the former Finance Minister Karl-Heinz Grasser, whose conviction is legally binding. In the interrogations, the defendant explained that he had been under pressure to provide further evidence and had initially wanted to buy time by producing fabricated messages. Verbatim, he said according to the available records: "Auf Grund des wachsenden Drucks und meiner Intention, sich Zeit zum Recherchieren zu verschaffen, (...) fasste ich den Entschluss, zunächst drei oder vier falsche E-Mails herzustellen."
