The Austrian Hellweg Die Profi-Baumärkte GmbH on Monday applied to the Linz Regional Court for restructuring proceedings with self-administration; around 165 employees at six locations are affected.

Background of the restructuring filing

The Austrian subsidiary of the hardware store chain Hellweg on Monday applied to the Linz Regional Court for restructuring proceedings with self-administration. This is according to a company press release published on the day of the filing. Hellweg Die Profi-Baumärkte GmbH is responding to the economic burdens that the company says it is currently having to shoulder.

As the company further announced, the company operates around 165 employees in six hardware and garden centers. The aim of the proceedings is „die Fortführung und zukunftsfähige Aufstellung des Unternehmens". Self-administration means that management continues to run the company during the proceedings, accompanied by experienced restructuring experts.
