Following the discovery of a dead 64-year-old man in an outbuilding in the southeast of Klagenfurt on Wednesday morning, police have arrested a 44-year-old Carinthian man; the suspect has since confessed to the murder.
As was announced at a press conference on Thursday, a man had been found dead in an outbuilding in the southeast of Klagenfurt on Wednesday morning. On the very same day, a 44-year-old Carinthian man was identified as a suspect and taken into custody. Due to the severe head injuries, investigators quickly assumed that the death was not due to natural causes.
Shortly after the discovery of the 64-year-old, suspicion had already arisen that another person was involved in the death. The decisive factors were the severe injuries to the head, which indicated external force. Police now assume a homicide.
