Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a public statement that Iran is currently grappling "with many difficulties," while announcing efforts to overcome inflation, unemployment, and high living costs.

Pezeshkian delivered his assessment in unequivocal terms, describing the situation in the country as a phase of numerous strains. He reaffirmed his government's goal of improving the population's living conditions and giving people a life of dignity and self-respect.

In doing so, the president implicitly acknowledged the gravity of the economic situation. The Iranian currency has been under pressure for years, inflation is high, and many households are complaining about rising prices for food, energy, and rent. International sanctions are further compounding the situation.
