Former Liverpool player and manager Kenny Dalglish (75) has publicly confirmed his cancer diagnosis after previously unintentionally revealing it through a social media post.
As his former club, Liverpool FC, announced in a statement on Tuesday, Dalglish reacted to the incident. "Ideally, this would have remained private, as that's how it should be, but my useless technical skills have forced my hand," the 75-year-old said. He added, "Of course, I didn't want to make this public, so I would appreciate it if the privacy of my family and myself would be respected."
Previously, the diagnosis had become public through an "unintentional social media post." In a statement released through the club, Dalglish wrote, "As my unintentional social media post has indicated, I am currently undergoing treatment for cancer." Looking ahead, he added, "Unlike my mobile phone usage, the treatment is going well."
