A man attacked three women with a knife on Monday at Porte de Clichy in northwestern Paris, leaving them with partly serious injuries, before being apprehended by an off-duty police officer.

The attack took place on Monday at around 11:30 a.m. at Porte de Clichy in the northwest of the French capital. According to Interior Minister Laurent Nunez, the victims are three women aged 19, 24, and 36. Speaking on Monday with regard to the health condition of the injured, Nunez described the situation as partly serious but not life-threatening. The women received initial treatment at the scene and were then taken to a hospital.

According to the government, during the attack the man attacked several people with two kitchen knives. As the interior minister further reported, one woman sustained injuries to the abdominal area. Police confirmed that the attacker had been „schnell festgenommen" (quickly apprehended). The arrested man had made „Aussagen ohne Zusammenhang" (statements without coherence), according to the initial results of the investigation.
