Mexico City, 1 November 2026

Lewis Hamilton secured Ferrari’s first pole position in Mexico on 31 October 2026, while Kimi Antonelli will start the race fourth.

Lewis Hamilton will start from the front for Ferrari for the first time in Mexico. Following qualifying, the Mercedes driver is also in a special position: there are 815 metres between pole position and the first braking zone.

The track’s distinguishing feature

This track is longer than any other current circuit on the Formula 1 calendar. Hamilton therefore has to complete a long run to the first braking zone before reaching the/license corner and being able to launch a decisive attack on the positions ahead.

For Ferrari, pole position in Mexico is an important achievement. Hamilton won the team’s first starting position and will enter the race alongside his teammate Kimi Antonelli.

Antonelli starts fourth. This means two Ferraris occupy the first two starting positions, with Hamilton holding the front and Antonelli starting immediately behind him.
