English top-flight club Manchester City was found guilty on Thursday in a Premier League proceeding on over 100 breaches of the league's financial regulations, meaning the club, owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, now faces consequences including potential forced relegation.
The independent Premier League commission, in the findings published on Thursday, ruled it proven that Manchester City breached the so-called PSR rules (Profit and Sustainability Rules) over a period of several years. According to the BBC, the breaches add up to 130 charges on which the club was found guilty on the substantive points. The club also failed to cooperate on five further charges, it added.
