An Oslo court will deliver its verdict on Monday at 8:30 a.m. against Marius Borg Høiby, 29, son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, tried for 40 charges including four rapes, after seven weeks of proceedings.

Update of 15 June 2026: the verdict in the Marius Borg Høiby trial is to be handed down on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. at the Oslo court, after seven weeks of hearings that have kept Norway on edge and shed light on the gray areas of the royal family. Contrary to what was initially planned, the defendant will not be physically present in the courtroom: for health reasons, he will follow the ruling via video link from his cell, as the court has indicated.

The judges will begin by reading a summary of the verdict, estimated to last an hour and a half, before the written decision is released to the press. The prosecution formally requested a sentence of seven years and seven months in prison against the eldest son of the Crown Princess, according to information corroborated by two sources.
