The humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has accused Israel of intentionally causing a famine crisis in the Gaza Strip by withholding food and aid supplies.
Humanitarian Crisis Worsens
The organization particularly warns of the impact on children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers. The Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip and attacks on civilian infrastructure have further aggravated the situation. According to MSF, the effects of malnutrition are clearly visible: there has been a significant increase in premature births, deaths of malnourished infants, and miscarriages.
MSF's investigations, based on data from four health facilities supported by the organization in Gaza, cover the period between late 2024 and early this year. Before the Gaza war, malnutrition in the Gaza Strip was "virtually non-existent," as MSF representative Merce Rocaspana emphasized.
