VIENNA, April 20, 2026

The new owners of Austrian sports retailer Hervis, Sven Voth and Udo Schloemer, have sold the company’s foreign operations—comprising 43 stores across Slovenia, Croatia, and Germany—to an undisclosed investor, the company announced Monday.

The deal marks a strategic shift for Hervis, which has struggled with mounting losses in recent years. The investor will take immediate control of the overseas subsidiaries, while Voth and Schloemer focus on revitalizing the core Austrian business.

Sale Details and Geographic Breakdown

The foreign operations sold include 21 locations in Slovenia, 18 in Croatia, and four in Germany. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Zur "genauen Identität des Investors" und zu finanziellen Details des Verkaufs mache man "keine Angaben," the company said in a statement. The investor will assume "sofortiger Wirkung die operative Führung" (immediate operational leadership) of Hervis’s foreign subsidiaries and will "nun die nächsten Schritte evaluieren" (now evaluate the next steps).

The sale follows Spar’s decision earlier this year to divest its stake in Hervis after more than 50 years. The Salzburg-based retail conglomerate had sought to offload the struggling sports retail subsidiary, which had become a financial burden.
