North Korea launched multiple short-range ballistic missiles toward the East Sea on Tuesday, marking another provocation in defiance of United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Missile Launch Details

The missiles were fired in an easterly direction and reached a flight distance of approximately 140 kilometers, according to South Korea's military. The Japanese Ministry of Defense also confirmed the launch, reporting that multiple suspected ballistic missiles were detected near North Korea's east coast.

"Die Geschosse seien in östliche Richtung abgefeuert worden und hätten eine Flugdistanz von rund 140 Kilometern erreicht," gab das südkoreanische Militär laut Nachrichtenagentur Yonhap bekannt. ("The projectiles were fired in an easterly direction and reached a flight distance of around 140 kilometers," South Korea's military reported, according to news agency Yonhap.)

The launch follows a pattern of recent weapons tests by North Korea, which has continued to develop its missile capabilities despite international sanctions. Ballistic missile tests are explicitly prohibited under multiple UN Security Council resolutions, which North Korea has repeatedly violated.
