US chipmaker Nvidia nearly doubled its revenue in the second fiscal quarter but came in below market expectations with its results, sending the stock lower in after-hours trading.
Semiconductor company Nvidia, whose graphics processors are considered key building blocks for artificial intelligence applications, reported its numbers for the second fiscal quarter, which ended in late July, after the market closed on Wednesday. Revenue doubled year-on-year to $46.7 billion, surpassing the average analyst estimate of $46.2 billion, according to the quarterly report. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $1.05, narrowly missing expectations of $1.01.
