Vienna, July 25, 2026

Der ÖFB Cup begins this weekend with several first-round matches, featuring LASK in Kalsdorf and Red Bull Salzburg in Oberwart, while Salzburg's new coach Röhl makes his competitive debut.

For LASK, the new season begins with a trip to Styria. The Linz-based side visits Regionalliga club Kalsdorf, where coach Dietmar Kühbauer can call on the fit-again Moses Usor, World Cup starter Andres Andrade, and new signing Alessandro Schöpf. "Die letzten Wochen waren sehr intensiv, die Jungs haben sehr gut mitgezogen," Kühbauer is quoted as saying. With a 2-0 friendly win over Düsseldorf behind them, the Upper Austrians face a competitive task they do not want to underestimate.

LASK head to Kalsdorf with confidence

"Wir werden langsam wieder zu der Mannschaft, die wir in der Saison auch benötigen werden," said Kühbauer, who could claim a third consecutive ÖFB Cup title. Vorarlberg's Austria Lustenau take on Kremser SC on Saturday (6:30 PM), where Stefan Maierhofer took over as head coach only a few days ago. Also in action on Saturday is GAK in Vienna against third-division side SR Donaufeld (5:00 PM).
