The Austrian national football player Alexander Prass proposed to his long-time partner Lisa Ledinek in the Caribbean, and she accepted.
The 25-year-old reportedly popped the question during a joint vacation on the Turks and Caicos Islands, according to an Instagram post from the couple. The photos the couple published show a beach with flowers, candles, and a ring in the foreground, while the two celebrate the moment. With this, the player, who is under contract as a legionnaire with German Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim, shared a personal piece of news just under a week after the Austrian national team's elimination from the World Cup.
Personal happiness after sporting exit
The news came during a mixed sporting phase for the ÖFB national team player. The Austrian side had been eliminated in the World Cup round of 16 by Spain. Personally, however, Prass can look back on a positive stretch of the season: the midfielder had earned himself a regular spot at Hoffenheim over the past months and had been nominated for the tournament by national team coach Ralf Rangnick. With the engagement, he is now also sending a clear signal off the pitch.
The future bride also had her say via the comment function on the post. Under the pictures, Ledinek wrote that she was marrying her "best friend." The words prompted numerous congratulations from followers. Players from the Bundesliga as well as companions from the ÖFB circle responded with emojis, hearts, and appreciative comments on the post, underscoring the couple's standing in the domestic football scene.
