Pope Leo XIV left the Gemelli Hospital in Rome on Tuesday and returned to the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican after having part of his right lung removed. The physicians assessed the Holy Father as sufficiently recovered, following a series of follow-up examinations, to be able to leave the hospital.

The treating doctors stated in the morning that his overall clinical condition had stabilized to the point that nothing stood in the way of a discharge.
