A man robbed a post office branch in Vienna-Liesing on Tuesday and was arrested by police shortly afterward.
The hold-up took place on Tuesday afternoon at a post office branch in Vienna's Liesing district. The suspected perpetrator threatened the present employees with a weapon and demanded the handover of cash. He then fled from the branch.
Quick Arrest
As investigators announced, the suspect could be stopped and arrested only a short time after the crime, not far from the scene. The stolen cash was secured, as was the weapon used in the crime. According to police, the weapon is a blank-firing pistol—a weapon that only fires noise and irritant, but does not discharge any projectiles.
