Vienna, July 28, 2026
SK Rapid Wien is set to participate to the tune of around five million euros in an upcoming transfer of former midfielder Mamadou Sangare, who left the club in 2021.
As the club announced on Tuesday, the amount will flow through a resale participation that had been agreed in the original transfer contract. The level of the participation corresponds to the share of the Hütteldorf side in the deal at the time, it was said from the club. Sangare, who wore the Rapid jersey between 2019 and 2021, moved to France's Ligue 1 in the summer of 2021.
At his current club RC Lens in France, Sangare has developed into a key performer in recent years. In the past season, the Ivorian regularly featured in the starting lineup and also gained international attention. According to media reports, he is now set for a transfer worth a total of around 48 million euros.
