Police were summoned on Thursday morning to an optician's shop on Vienna's Mariahilfer Straße (Mariahilfer Straße, MaHü) following a robbery theft, after a man described as a disheveled customer allegedly attempted to take three pairs of sunglasses with a total value of around 500 euros without paying.

According to police, the incident occurred on Thursday morning at an optician's shop on Mariahilfer Straße in the Vienna-Neubau district. An employee reportedly observed a rather disheveled customer trying to leave the store with three pairs of sunglasses worth around 500 euros without paying for them. Police were subsequently alerted.

Officers encountered the man in the immediate vicinity of the shop and took him into temporary custody. During a search, they also found small quantities of cannabis resin. The stolen goods — three pairs of sunglasses along with their case — were seized and returned to the optician's shop.
