Silvia Dronsch, who is suffering from skin cancer, has received a letter along with an autograph card from the Chancellery following a public exchange with Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz, a government spokesperson confirmed.
During the citizen dialogue at the end of April in Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt, Dronsch had confronted the CDU politician over planned cuts in the healthcare system. Dronsch, who according to her own account is suffering from stage four skin cancer and hails from Suhlendorf near Uelzen in Lower Saxony, also criticized the plan to eliminate free skin cancer screening examinations as part of a healthcare reform.
