Soybean futures retreated Tuesday morning after Monday’s gains, with prices down 4 to 5 cents amid robust planting progress and mixed export data.

Nearby cash soybean prices settled at $11.54 1/4, up 17 3/4 cents, while July 2026 futures closed at $12.22 3/4, gaining 19 1/2 cents before Tuesday’s decline. The cmdtyView national average cash price rose 17 3/4 cents to $11.54 1/2. New crop cash prices also climbed, reaching $11.35 3/4, a 12-cent increase.

Monday’s trading saw broad gains across soybean contracts, with most up 9 ¼ to 19 ¾ cents. Open interest surged by 36,208 contracts, led by July futures with 16,739 new positions. Soymeal futures added $1.50 to $2.50 per ton, while soy oil futures rose 101 to 137 points. Overnight deliveries for May soybeans totaled 110 contracts.
