Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker has announced a solution for the insolvent employment fund and is seeking a united approach with the social partners.
Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker promised a swift solution on Saturday in the case of the insolvent employment fund. The fund had run into financial difficulties after numerous employers were no longer able to pay their contributions. According to the social partners, several thousand employees are affected, whose outstanding wages and salaries must now be secured from the insolvency assets.
Stocker spoke in Vienna with representatives of business and trade unions about the further course of action. He assured that the federal government, together with the social partners, would work out a financial bridge. He did not provide details yet, but announced concrete steps in the coming days.
