Villach, 11 August 2026
Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker faced a citizens' dialogue on Monday in Villach after an earlier statement of his had drawn criticism.
At the Congress Center Villach, Stocker spoke with citizens late in the afternoon. The focus was on issues that directly affect many people in Austria: rising prices and their consequences for pensioners, training in emergency services, and the question of why the government has not yet adopted the proposals of a commission on compulsory military service. Innovative wind turbines, humanoid robots and a possible lowering of the speed limit to reduce CO2 were also discussed.
