The Austrian football club Sturm Graz finds itself confronted with accusations in the so-called Massombo affair and firmly rejects them.

In the comparatively small Austrian football world, former companions regularly meet again on the touchline, on the phone, and in the transfer market. Precisely these entanglements are now at the center of a dispute being discussed under the keyword Massombo affair. The case is causing a stir in the domestic Bundesliga because it reportedly flared up over a controversial phone contact between officials.

At the center of the debate is the young player Yann Massombo, who changed clubs in the summer. According to some of those involved, a non-public phone call is said to have taken place during the transfer, which is regarded as problematic by other parties. The club Altach, which previously had the player under contract, plays a role in the discussion, as do player agents and officials.
