The Swiss Football Association (SFV) caused a stir shortly before the Swiss national team's World Cup match with a tongue-in-cheek video message to James Corden's late-night show, in which national coach Murat Yakin countered the US host's "villain" quips.

The Swiss Football Association (SFV) responded to the repeated comparisons that James Corden had drawn in his show on the US pay-TV channel Fox between Murat Yakin and a James Bond villain with a counterattack of the charming kind. As reported by SRF News, the association sent the comedy show's editorial team a video message by email, in which the national coach picked up the humorous exchange and combined it with a self-assured message from the Swiss national team. The video was also distributed via the national team's official Instagram channel and via the Swiss Embassy in the USA on the platform X.
