Tadej Pogačar has won the 113th Tour de France, completing his fifth overall victory with the maillot jaune on the Champs-Élysées in Paris and drawing level with the great cycling legends Bernard Hinault and Eddy Merckx.

The exceptional Slovenian rider from UAE Team Emirates capped a Tour de France that was dominant over long stretches on Sunday, relegating Belgian Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel to second place in the general classification by 6:26 minutes. The 22-year-old Mexican Isaac del Toro, riding his first Tour de France, completed the podium and also secured the White Jersey as the best young professional under 25. The Green Points Jersey went to Denmark's Mads Pedersen, the Polka-Dot Jersey for the best mountain climber to Ecuador's Richard Carapaz, who was also awarded the most active rider prize of the race.
