The US singer Taylor Swift has paid the City of New York more than $160,000 (approximately €140,000) for the security measures surrounding her wedding celebration at Madison Square Garden, according to the mayor.
The payment was made public by the city's mayor and relates to the police deployment and other security precautions during the celebration last weekend at the famous multi-purpose arena in Manhattan. Swift married professional football player Travis Kelce there.
A smaller ceremony with reportedly around 100 guests was followed by a wedding spectacle with allegedly some 1,000 family members, friends and acquaintances. The event drew significant media interest and required extensive logistical measures.
