Three young men were injured, one critically stabbed, during a Saturday evening brawl involving multiple teenagers in Vienna's Brigittenau district, with six suspects apprehended shortly afterward.
Violent Altercation Near Vorgartenstraße
The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on May 9 in the vicinity of Vorgartenstraße, though the exact cause of the confrontation remains unclear. According to police spokesperson Julia Schick, "Sehr schnell sei es zu einer hitzigen Diskussion und einer Rauferei gekommen, bei der der 18-Jährige ein Messer gezogen und zugestochen habe." ("Very quickly it escalated into a heated argument and a brawl, during which the 18-year-old drew a knife and stabbed.")
The 17-year-old victim sustained knife wounds, while his companions, aged 20 and 22, suffered bone fractures during the physical altercation. Emergency services treated all three at the scene before transporting them to a nearby hospital. A police dog later located the weapon used in the attack.
