Seven months after the discovery of a decomposed body in the trunk of a car in Los Angeles, police have arrested 21-year-old musician D4vd on suspicion of murder, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The victim, a 14-year-old girl from Lake Elsinore, had been missing since April 2024.
D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, gained international fame through viral TikTok hits like *Romantic Homicide* and *Here with Me*, which amassed billions of streams. He also composed the anthem for the popular video game *Fortnite* in 2025.
Discovery of the Body
The case first drew attention in September 2025 when employees at a tow yard in Hollywood reported a foul odor emanating from a vehicle. Police later found the remains of the teenager inside the trunk. The girl, whose identity has not been publicly released, had been reported missing from Lake Elsinore, a city located approximately 110 kilometers southeast of Los Angeles.
Investigators did not immediately disclose how the victim was connected to Burke or what evidence led to his arrest. The LAPD confirmed the arrest on Thursday local time but provided no further details about the ongoing investigation.
