Tottenham Hotspur secured their Premier League status with a 1-0 victory over Everton on the final day of the season, while West Ham United were relegated to the Championship for the first time in 14 years despite a 3-0 home win against Leeds United.
The decisive moment at Tottenham came just before half-time when João Palhinha slammed home the rebound after a header struck the post. Austrian international Kevin Danso started for Spurs, who held on under manager Roberto De Zerbi to complete a turbulent season that saw three different coaches take charge.
West Ham’s fate was sealed by results elsewhere. Valentín Castellanos, Jarrod Bowen and Callum Wilson all found the net for the Hammers, but Tottenham’s win meant even a 3-0 victory could not save them. With 39 points, West Ham go down as one of the highest-scoring relegated sides in league history.
