The trial, being held before the Regional Court of Plessur, has in the dock three external or cantonal experts, a representative of the municipality of Bregaglia, and Anna Giacometti, as confirmed by judicial sources. The prosecution centres on the municipal management prior to the rockslide that on 23 August 2017 devastated the Bondasca valley and the village of Bondo.

Before the hearings began, the court explained that the proceedings will run until Wednesday, depending on the complexity of the technical expert reports and the scheduled statements. The sessions are being held partially behind closed doors in some segments reserved for the protection of personal data.
