US President Donald Trump has called NBA superstar LeBron James possibly a racist at the White House and clearly placed him behind Michael Jordan in the debate over the greatest basketball player of all time, which has been simmering for years.

Trump's response at the White House

Trump responded to a reporter's question about who he considers the greatest basketball player in history. "I would say Michael Jordan, without question," the president stated. He used the answer, however, to take a swipe at James: "I think LeBron is – maybe he's a racist, but maybe he just doesn't like Trump. I only like people who like me," Trump said at the White House. He did not explain why he was accusing James of racism.
