Two juveniles arrested after handbag robbery of 91-year-old in Innsbruck

After their arrest, the two juveniles were taken to the Innsbruck correctional facility. Since the accused are minors, they will be dealt with under the provisions of juvenile criminal law. A youth court judge will decide on possible pre-trial detention or alternative measures.

According to police, tips from the public were also part of the background to the arrest. Residents had reported suspicious individuals after the incident on Gumppstraße. These reports evidently helped investigators decisively pick up the trail of the alleged robbers.

Reut-Nicolussi-Straße, another area within the city, was part of the investigative area. Whether the two juveniles committed further offenses there is the subject of the ongoing investigation. Police do not rule out that there may be additional victims.
