The US health agency CDC reported on Friday that 2,318 measles cases have been registered in the United States so far this year – the highest number since the 1989 to 1991 period, with experts attributing the rise to growing vaccine hesitancy.

As the CDC announced on Friday, 2,318 measles infections have been recorded in the United States in the current year. This exceeds the previous all-time high from the entire previous year – 2,289 cases. The year is not yet over, and the agency expects numbers to continue rising, as new infections are being reported continuously nationwide.
