Following an attack in which a victim was pushed down a staircase from behind and robbed, police in Vienna are searching with photos for the suspected perpetrator.

After evaluating surveillance cameras and with the approval of the public prosecutor's office, police are now searching with investigation photos for the suspected staircase pusher and robber, as stated in a release. The investigations are being conducted at the Vienna State Criminal Police Office, which has taken over the case and is publicly searching for the pictured person.

The incident occurred in the area of the Margaretengürtel, a busy traffic artery in Vienna's Margareten district. According to current findings, a passerby was approached from behind, pushed down the staircase of an underground station and subsequently robbed. The ruthless method – an attack from behind on individuals in a public passage – led investigators to the trail of a specific suspected person.
