Innsbruck, 05 August 2026
A 14-year-old youth residing in Tyrol remains in pre-trial detention following a decision by the Innsbruck Regional Court, because the public prosecutor's office accuses him of a serious terrorist offense under Section 278c of the Austrian Criminal Code.
The prosecution had filed a corresponding detention request against the boy, which the court granted in full. As the public prosecutor's office announced, the juvenile is charged with participation in a serious terrorist offense within the meaning of Section 278c of the Criminal Code. This provision criminalizes, among other things, acts that are suitable for severely or lastingly disrupting public life or seriously damaging economic existence.
