A 16-year-old is in pre-trial detention in Graz on suspicion of having raped an 11-year-old girl in early April in southern Styria.

As the Graz Public Prosecutor's Office announced, the juvenile was tracked down, arrested, and taken into pre-trial detention in May. Initially, it had not been known who the perpetrator might be. It was only through the investigations of the criminal police that the alleged perpetrator could be identified.

According to a report by the Kleine Zeitung, the girl was walking on foot on a Friday when the juvenile approached her. He said he had chosen the schoolgirl at random because he saw her on the walking path. He did not know his victim.

Course of the Offense

According to the current state of the investigation, he severely abused the 11-year-old based on the results available so far. The spokesperson for the Graz Public Prosecutor's Office, Christian Kroschl, confirmed the severe sexual abuse of the child.
