A 16-year-old youth led police on a wild chase on a motocross bike in the district of Weiz and endangered other drivers in the process.
The incident occurred in the district of Weiz in Styria, where the young rider was traveling on a motocross bike not registered for public road traffic. When a police patrol spotted him and signaled him to stop, the youth fled instead of pulling over. The ensuing ride stretched across several road sections, including the federal highway B 65.
During the flight from police, the 16-year-old is said to have massively endangered other road users through his riding style, according to the information available. Oncoming or vehicles ahead reportedly had to swerve or brake sharply to avoid a collision with the young motocross rider.
The exact background of the flight and the starting point of the chase are currently being reconstructed by the investigating officers. What is clear is that the youth was ultimately stopped by police. Details on the location of the stop and the further course of events after it have not yet been published.
