17-Year-Old Without a Driver's License Flees in Father's Car Through Three Vienna Districts

The flight finally ended on the Gürtel Bridge in Vienna's 20th district of Brigittenau. There, the officers managed to stop the vehicle and arrest the 17-year-old. As of now, no one was injured.

The teenager was taken to a police station after his arrest. He is now being investigated for several offenses, including driving without a license, endangering traffic safety, and a suspected count of resisting state authority.

Father's Role Under Investigation

The Vienna police investigation is now focusing, among other things, on how the teenager was able to obtain the vehicle's key. The role of the father, to whom the car belongs, is also part of the ongoing inquiries.

Officers from the Vienna State Police Directorate emphasized that chases of this kind posed a significant risk to uninvolved road users. Residents and passersby were endangered by the teenager's reckless driving.

The incident is part of a series of similar escapes in which young drivers without valid licenses have attempted to evade police checks in Austrian cities. The Vienna Police announced that the case would be fully clarified and that consequences would be applied in accordance with the law.
