Following an alleged abuse of a dog on the open street in the area of the Donauspital subway station in Vienna-Donaustadt, police have arrested a 28-year-old man.
A passerby alerted police on Friday evening after she had observed in the area of the Donauspital subway station in Vienna-Donaustadt how a 28-year-old man allegedly abused his dog on the open street by hitting and kicking it. The woman informed the emergency services, after which officers from the Donaustadt City Police Command deployed and were able to locate and arrest the man still in the area of the subway station.
Arrest following tip from a passerby
According to the Vienna Animal Rescue, the dog received initial on-site care. The animal rescue took custody of the animal and brought it in for further examination and care. Details regarding the severity of the dog's injuries were not initially made public. Authorities also initially provided no further information on the dog's breed or the precise course of events of the alleged offense.
