A 32-year-old man from Hohenzell in Upper Austria died over the weekend from an allergic shock after a hornet sting; all help came too late.
The man, who was well known in the community as Florian S., according to Mayor Thomas Priewwasser, was stung by a hornet on Saturday in or near the municipality of Hohenzell. Despite immediately initiated first-aid measures and the rapid response of rescue teams, an anaphylactic shock occurred, according to the municipality. Florian S. died at the scene.

Priewwasser expressed in an initial statement that he was deeply affected by the sudden death of the 32-year-old. „Egal, wann und warum man ihn angerufen hat, Florian war sofort zur Stelle und hat immer geholfen, wenn er gebraucht wurde“, said the mayor. He expressed his condolences to the family and relatives and described the grief in the community as „riesengroß“.
