A 64-year-old man in Styria has been arrested after allegedly shooting his 59-year-old wife with a rifle on a farm in Gersdorf.
The incident came to light when the man reportedly informed relatives that he had killed his wife. Police were alerted via an emergency call around 4:30 PM on Wednesday.
The suspect, who legally owned two rifles, allegedly used one of them as the weapon in the crime. He was later found with injuries, believed to be from a suicide attempt, and was hospitalized.
Authorities revealed that the man had been living with his deceased wife since the previous Sunday, raising questions about the timeline of events.
