A mass brawl involving approximately 100 football fans from Nice broke out in Paris on Thursday evening, just hours before the French Cup final, leading to 65 arrests and leaving six people injured.

The incident occurred at the Canal Saint-Martin, a popular waterway in the 10th arrondissement, where around 100 Nice supporters gathered and quickly initiated a large-scale fight, according to French sports daily L'Equipe, citing police sources.

Law enforcement responded in force, detaining 65 individuals and providing medical treatment to six who sustained injuries during the clashes. Authorities have not yet disclosed the severity of the injuries or whether any were hospitalized.

The violence cast a shadow over the highly anticipated Coupe de France final, scheduled for Thursday night at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis. Nice, officially known as OGC Nice, is set to face RC Lens, a club featuring Austrian defender Samson Baidoo. Baidoo is currently sidelined with an injury and will not feature in the match.
