Actress Ania Niedieck recounts small change theft from her childhood

Her mother's purse had always been in the same spot on the counter, the actress further reported. „Scheine habe sie nie genommen." She never touched banknotes; only the small change was fair game. She reportedly used the money exclusively to buy a snack roll for the school break when she had to leave the house in the morning without breakfast.

Niedieck, who is from Mettmann, also explained that as a child she only received pocket money irregularly. „Ich gehörte einfach auch nicht zu den Kindern, die regelmäßig Taschengeld bekommen haben", she told the Deutsche Presse-Agentur. The lack of regular small payments had likely contributed to the fact that she occasionally helped herself.

Eventually, however, the theft was noticed. „Ihre Mutter habe sich irgendwann auch mal gewundert, dass kein Kleingeld mehr da gewesen sei", the actress reported. But instead of escalating into a conflict, the moment turned reconciliatory: „Und irgendwann haben wir auch schon darüber sehr gelacht." The little family story is now a shared keepsake that mother and daughter can joke about.

A reconciliatory ending

The actress responded to possible follow-up questions with a lighthearted nod to the legal side. „Aber das ist alles verjährt", she emphasized. With this, she alluded to the fact that the offenses date back decades and can no longer carry any criminal-law consequences, simply for reasons of time.

Niedieck has appeared in the RTL series "Alles was zählt" since 2010; the show is produced in Cologne. Alongside her role in the daily soap, she also hosts the podcast "Blondie Spritz", which she co-hosts with Phil Pauls. In the format, she says she regularly speaks openly about her life.
