Barcelona, 23 July 2026

FC Barcelona has signed German winger Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund and officially presented him on Thursday; the 24-year-old receives a contract until 2031.

The Transfer in Numbers

FC Barcelona made the transfer official with a 15-second video clip: in it, Adeyemi walks along the Ramblas in Barcelona, snaps his fingers to freeze the bustle around him, takes a Barça scarf from a passerby, and continues on his way before the lettering "Adeyemi Ès Culer" appears. The attacking player then underwent a medical examination in Barcelona and was received by club president Joan Laporta, who had already confirmed the signing to Spanish media beforehand. The move had not been a secret in the days leading up to it.

According to consistent media reports, Borussia Dortmund and FC Barcelona agreed on a transfer fee of 22 million euros plus up to seven million euros in bonuses as well as a 35 percent sell-on clause for a future transfer. The former Dortmund player's contract at Barça runs until 2031. Adeyemi himself had previously informed BVB of his desire to move; his existing contract in the Ruhr region would have expired in the summer of 2027.
