Minneapolis, 20 August 2026
Health investigators in Minnesota and Wisconsin are examining a multi-state outbreak of food poisoning that has been linked to alfalfa sprouts produced by Everything Sprouts, the FDA confirmed.
The Food and Drug Administration said the cluster of illnesses has been tied to alfalfa sprouts distributed by Everything Sprouts, a producer that supplies retailers in both states. Officials did not immediately release a full tally of cases or hospitalizations, but investigators in Minnesota have identified multiple people who reported eating the product before becoming ill, according to reporting tracked by the AP.
Health agencies in Wisconsin are also investigating reports of compatible illnesses among residents who consumed the same type of sprouts. The two states have been working in parallel, comparing purchase records, patient interviews and laboratory results to determine whether a single production lot or distributor is responsible.
