Alibaba's stock rose as much as 4.00 percent to HKD 117.10 in Hong Kong on Monday, buoyed by media reports of an upcoming IPO by AI startup Moonshot, in which Alibaba holds a stake.
Alibaba's stock gained as much as 4.00 percent to HKD 117.10 in Hong Kong. The trigger was, according to Bloomberg, a report on a potential IPO by Moonshot, in which Alibaba is involved as a co-investor. JD.com also gained 2.67 percent intraday to HKD 119.40, and shares of Hong Kong-listed Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp rose as much as 2.88 percent to HKD 69.65.
Moonshot unveiled Kimi K3 last Friday, an open AI model with roughly 2.8 trillion parameters in a mixture-of-experts architecture and a context window of one million tokens. Moonshot plans to release the full model weights by July 27, 2026. On independent benchmark platforms such as Artificial Analysis and Arena.ai, the model performed competitively with top US models and surpassed Anthropic's Opus in some demanding tests.
