Beijing-based Moonshot AI has paused new subscriptions for its Kimi K3 artificial-intelligence model after demand within 48 hours of launch pushed available GPU capacity to its limits.

The company announced the temporary halt on Sunday via X, two days after unveiling Kimi K3 on Friday under the slogan "Open Frontier Intelligence." "Our GPUs [graphics processing units] are feeling it," the Beijing-based lab wrote, adding: "We're adding capacity as fast as we can and will reopen new subscription spots in batches." The statement said demand over the past two days had come close to the limits of current capacity and that the model had received "far more love" than expected.
