A female applicant for the position of Chamber Office Director at the Salzburg Chamber of Agriculture has filed a criminal complaint on suspicion of job rigging, while the Chamber rejects the allegations.
Sabine Schuster, 39, had applied in spring 2025 to succeed the then Chamber Office Director Nikolaus Lienbacher, who had held the post for 27 years. In the hearing procedure, according to her own account, a point was subsequently removed from her score, causing her to slip behind the ultimately selected candidate Franz Wieser. In the event of a tie, the Federal Equal Treatment Act would have required that the woman be chosen, says Schuster.
